Orchard Celebration!

Starts: Jul 1 1:30 PM
Ends: Jul 4 4:30 PM

Celebrate four days in a row at the Historic Orchard at Altapass!  Beginning Thursday, July 1st, remember the good stuff with local musician Terry McKinney and friends.  Return on Friday for a special 60s style musical performance by Mike Presnell, Hope Harvey and Luke Clark.  Make a bee line on Saturday to visit with local wood turners, Kevin and Donna Clark, for their sale and display of hand crafted specialty ornaments followed by music with the High Country Ramblers and David Wiseman and Friends.  Nope, that's not all on Saturday...after a brief break, enjoy the bluegrass mix with some fine foot-tapping old time entertainment!  Pack up a covered dish and make it back for the July 4th picnic.  Don't feel like cooking?  Pay $12 per person and enjoy!  The orchard provides fresh BBQ, water, iced tea and paper products.  Details are below or go to their website, http://www.altapassorchard.com.  The orchard is located directly on the spectacular Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 328.3.  I-40 to exit 85/Hwy. 221 North.  Follow Highway 221/226 By-Pass to intersection of Highway 226/226-A turning left.  Follow Highway 226 to "top of the mountain" towards Spruce Pine.  At stop sign, turn right, drive under Parkway bridge, take another right and drive South on the Parkway.  Orchard is on the right!
