Save the Date!!  Two rides to choose from...one for the "hard core" cyclist and another "fun ride" for the rest of us!  The Dewey Hughes Memorial Ride is a challenging one beginning at Marion's Corpening YMCA through the rolling farmlands in McDowell County up Stone Mountain, around Lake Lure, through Chimney Rock and returning to McDowell County via the Assault on Mt. Mitchell route for a total of 67 miles!  Whew!  Get ready to ascend spectacular hillsides and mountains averaging approximately 5,900 feet of cumulative climbing.  Membership fee is $20, non-member rate is $25.  

The Fun Ride begins at the same time and place, with the same fees, but takes you on an exciting 25 mile course through the rolling hillsides and farmlands of the county.  Applications are available online or at the Corpening YMCA in Marion on Sugar Hill Road.  Free Spaghetti meal after the ride!   http://www.ymcawnc.org
