Join Park Ranger Nora Coffey to learn about North Carolina’s largest woodpecker, the Pileated Woodpecker.  Discussion with mounted species with a short hike following.  The hike will be a moderate level hike of approximately 1.5 miles.  Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and bring your binoculars if you have them.  Meet at the Lake James State Park office at 10:00 a.m.  For more information, call 828-652-5047.
